Bhante Mahinda

Venerable Bhante Mahinda is the Spiritual Director of the Australian Buddhist Mission Inc. and Abbot of the Aloka Meditation Centre in Peat Ridge NSW. He is also one of the patrons of Bodhikusuma.

Venerable Mahinda, who is ordained in the Theravada tradition, has trained as a meditation teacher for more than 25 years.

Bhante Mahinda has studied and practiced under many masters in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. Meditation is very close to the heart of Bhante. He brings with him a very compassionate heart in teaching meditation.

The Venerable is also known for explaining the Buddha's message in simple language that appeals to the young and old alike. On several occasions the Venerable has appeared on Inter-Faith forums, on radio and in seminars which focussed on religious tolerance and mental health issues.

Many people have benefited from Bhante guidance in meditation both at the Aloka Meditation Centre and in many of the local and overseas Dhamma centres.

Venerable Bhante Mahinda is also one of the patron of Bodhikusuma Buddhist and Meditation Centre.
